WHAT TO EXPECT
Train and run in Iten, the hub of Kenyan running and home to world-class runners. Take the opportunity to improve your performance with guided runs, participate in coached training sessions and interact with other runners from around the world.
Make your way to Iten, Kenya’s ‘Home of the Champions’ which has produced world-class long distance athletes. With an altitude of 2400m above sea level and a year-round warm sunny climate, Iten provides a conducive environment for endurance training in addition to learning from the elite running community training here.
Base yourself at the High Altitude Training Centre, a world-class training environment equipped with a gym, a solar heated swimming pool and sauna. Rest comfortably in rooms complete with en-suite bathrooms and hot showers. Single occupancy rooms are also available. Professional chefs are available on site to whip up meals using locally sourced produce whilst individual dietary requirements can be arranged.
Participate in fully coached training sessions which have been designed to offer an authentic experience of running ‘The Kenyan Way’. Training schedules are tailored to individual abilities and personal objectives. Camp activities over two weeks include training with local guide runners who will show you the best trails, attend seminars facilitated by coaches and Kenyan champion runners, visit the Kenyan athletes training camp, engage and interact with the local and international running community.
